Self Test - What is your Body Type

Directions:  Take all three parts of the test writing down the points for each quality of Vata, Pitta and Kapha that applies to you most or all of the time.  Do not try to be all one body type - most people are a combination of two.  If you are uncertain of an answer, leave it blank.    Add up all the points you scored for Vata, than Pitta and Kapha - write on a piece of paper, draw up three coloumns and place points in each column for the answers that apply to you.  When you have done this see the interpretations down below.

Vata Score Pitta Score Kapha Score

The Maximum score for each part is 60.

1.  If you scored 45 or more on one section, you are a pure (or single-dosha) body type - Vita, Pitta or Kapha.  You wilml be paying most of your attention to this dosha in your diet, exercise (coming soon), daily routine and other lifestyle factors.

2. If you have two scores that stand out much more than your third score, you are a two-dosha type, which applies to the majority of people.  You will devote most attention to the first dosha in your diet, exercise and daily routine, but since two doshas are part of your physical and psychological makeup, you may have to pay attention to balancing both of these aspects of your body type.

3.  If your three scores are all close to each other (within 5 to 10 points), you are a three-dosha or balanced type.  This is the rarest type, which naturally tends to stay in balance; out of balance, however you will need to attend to all three doshas as they arise.

"In order to live in balance, you need to begin with an understanding of your mind-body type. This, after all, is the essential nature you inherited.  This is really who you are".
