| Acting took
my attention back at high school. I
was the class clown, due to shyness and
loved doing skits with my cousin
Elaine. I went to technical college
and became a secretary, it was my intention
to use this as my backup career. Mind
you I have had many years as an executive
secretary and have done very well with this.
After leaving school I joined an Amateur
Theatre group, spending many months at the
"La Boite" amateur theatre in
Milton. I met many interesting people
through this and learned all aspects of
theatre. The first production I was
involved in was called "Man of
Steel", we were the first to perform
this play and one of our group, Simon, wrote
the play. It has since been shown in
many high schools throughout Brisbane over
the last thirty odd years. This play
is a musical about Superman and was very
successful. Other plays I had parts in
following 'Man of Steel" were, Riders
to the Sea and Sisters. I
then enrolled with the Qld Film and
Television School and completed all
levels. Some famous actor of the time
ran the courses. I had some very good
comments on my certificates from these
courses. Through this I was given an
extra part in a new Brisbane Mini series
called "Paradise Village".
In 1981 I moved to Melbourne after an
overseas trip of a lifetime to England and
Europe. I enrolled in the Corbett TV
and Drama school in 1982 and graduated in
the same year. I then joined up with A
& J Casting and appeared in the
following productions:
- Series "Carsons Law",
which starred Lorraine Bailey
- Mini Series "Eureka
Stockade", with Bryan Brown
- Movie "Spotswood", with
Anthony Hopkins
- Series "Cop Shop"
- Commercial for Roger David,
