Give unwanted bulges the brush-off, just
a five minutes a day will give you energy to
burn
It is said that all you need for lasting
health is a daily all-over skin brush, just
before your shower. Just five minutes
per day of skin brushing improves
circulation, encourages fat cells to shift,
invigorates the brain and removes stress and
tension from our system. Skin Brushing
is said to help retard the ageing process,
gives you a perfect figure, enables you to
stand up straight and gets all the internal
organs in the system working as they should.
It is very simple to do, basically you
just stand in front of the mirror and brush
yourself all over - you can be sure you are
giving yourself the best beauty and health
treatment that exists. Brush your skin
every day, for a five minute total health
session. Skin Brushing is a mild form
of acupressure or acupuncture performed
without piercing the skin. When done
properly , the dry skin friction bath has
far reaching effects, as it stimulates
internal organs and makes the skin
glow. As you brush, nerve endings on
the skin are activated and these in turn
affect all the organs in remote parts of
your body via the reflexes of the nervous
system.
You don't just use any kind of brush, the
brush has to be long-handled with a
detachable head and the best have bristles
made from the Mexican tampico (a kind of
cactus). The bristles are quite hard
and scratchy and may even hurt at
first. You can search my gift shops
for one or can purchase one from
"The Body Shop" or like
stores. The skin is the largest
eliminative organ in the body and when it
doesn't function properly, a huge burden is
placed on the other elimination organs, such
as the bowel, the lungs and the kidneys.
On of the biggest benefits for many women
is that daily skin brushing helps you to
slim. The happens because the brushing
has the effect of breaking down accumulated
cellulite. Daily skin brushing works
on cellulite by gradually breaking down teh
liquid-filled fatty tissues and slowly
releasing the toxic fluids into the lympatic
system. Brushing should be followed by
a warm bath/shower and cold shower - the
cold shower may take a bit of getting used
to, but the effect will be wonderful.
The cold shower should be very short, just a
few seconds. Skin brushing however
should not be done on varicose veins, and
those suffering from sczema, psoriasis or
acne. The brush can only be used on
healthy, unbroken sking and should not be
used over recent scars, otherwise it cannot
do any damage. If you find the brush
too hard, just go gently at first until your
skin gets used to it.
How to do
The brushing should be done in long
strokes, always towards the heart. 1.
Start with your hands & fingers
(FIG 1), extend fingers and brush between
each finger seven times in any direction,
brush back and forth between thumb and
forefinger, then 14 times on top and
underneath the hand. 2.Brush in long
strokes from the wrist to the elbow (FIG 2),
then from the elbow to the shoulder.
remember to always brush in the direction of
the heart. 3. Next, brush across the
tops of the toes about 14 times, then the
bottom of the toes (FIG 3). Brush the
soles of the feet about 14 times and then
around the ankles, moving from the foot to
the ankle. 4. Now do the legs, brush
the entire surface (FIG 4) of the leg 14
times, from the ankle to the knee then the
knee to the hip - always brushing
upwards. 5. Now do the neck, to do
this vibrate the brush keeping it in place,
(FIG 5), at the nape of the head.
Brush downwards when brushing the throat on
to the larynx. Then swing it gently around
the area. 6. To stimulate the
lymphatic system, hold the brush (FIG 6) in
the left armpit and rotate it, seven times
to the left and seven times to the
right. Repeat under other arm.
7. Now do the front and sides of the body
(FIG 7), again with long sweeeping single
strokes and always in the direction of the
heart. 8. The back is the most
difficult area to brush, but with a long
handled brush you should be able to manage
(FIG 8), as always brush towards the
heart. 9. To get rid of cellulite (FIG
9), brush buttocks and thighs in any
direction about 14 times, you can even use a
circular motion to break down the cellulite.
